Not only that, but SYC is currently actively advertising the following on social media:
- Flag football registration is open
- Softball clinics are happening this summer
- The list of fall sport registrations that are currently open (hint: it's WAY more than soccer)

I don't even understand what people are complaining about. Some people volunteered to help run a combined rec/travel community kids sports league and those people's kids play travel soccer? So what.

Not PP, but why wouldn't soccer just leave instead of trying to get rid of all the other sports? Lots of history of travel organizations splitting away from their parents around here.

That’s because it’s really not an issue. There is more than enough field space in Springfield. There’s just a vocal minority of people that don’t understand why the top teams should be given the most field space. This is where that argument comes from…
Top teams attract top players. If those top players come to guest at practices you don’t want families to be under the impression that their child will be practicing in a shoe box.

Field and gym permits are given out first based on number of RECREATIONAL players. Travel orgs without rec leagues have a nearly impossible time getting any turf space.
Then how come the basketball council is always complaining at FCAC meetings that for-profit AAU teams are getting gym allocation over rec leagues? Or how did the for-profit women's flag football team get to cancel a rec soccer permit multiple times over multiple years?
There's official policy as to how allocation happens, and then there's what NCS really does...

People on here love to trash Arlington but look what they did when rumors of Arlington going to GA started to gain steam. Arlington leadership stepped up to the plate and released a statement.
Why is this so hard for SYC to do?
