I wish them all the success; but it can be a sign of extreme hubris to tout participation in a Global Elite event like this. Then, when anyone looks behind the green curtain, you don't even see one man pulling levers.
So, it remains to be seen. There is more than ample room for hyperbole and conjecture at this point. Something like this can easily be a topic to get picked apart on DCUM.
This kind of sums it up. I want it to succeed. One of the first posters kind of exposed many of the flaws that I never thought of that really made me go 🤨 Having been with a small club, I honestly think many of us parents understand the local landscape better than some of the clubs and admin. I can see FOMO from clubs forming because we all want to see how our kids compare to kids in formal academies as a benchmark.
When I looked a little deeper into the conflicting deadlines on multiple sites, cancellation language, and the “real estate developer” running the whole show I’m going to pass on the guesting opportunity and just show up with some 🍿 ready to be entertained whether it happens or not.
