Anonymous wrote:Similar income to OP and my OOS DC ended up not applying ED1 to W&M because the calculators showed it much more expensive (by ~$15-20K) than most private schools with need-based aid only. We didn’t qualify for any at W&M but a fair bit at the privates. Definitely recommend people trying out a lot of calculators early in process.

Yeah, for the percent reporting for W&M and UVA, adding SAT and ACT reporting numbers puts them in the ~60% ballpark, which is about the same as WashU, Rice, Vanderbilt, other ~T20 schools. Notes Dame doesn’t even report the % on theirs. So “meaningless” doesn’t really apply, unless you throw those schools’ data out as well.
