I detest the guy, and won't click on that video, but mothers have been deported and their US citizen kids were taken from them. In one instance, a mother was deported with her young US citizen child so as not to be separated. The US citizen husband filed a lawsuit to bring the child back.

The dad should have gone with his wife and kid. Who lets their wife and child leave the country and doesn’t go with them?

I work in an immigration-adjacent space. I’ve visited shelters and aid orgs at our southern border (multiple times, various locations) as part of my day job. And I’ve participated in countless interdisciplinary trainings. Fwiw, a real world situation I observed in real time at the border was eye opening in terms of the Sophie’s Choice-esque dilemma. While shadowing an immigration lawyer talking to a young woman who was lucky enough to give birth here within 48 hours of entering the country, it was clear that the woman loved the baby daddy who crossed with her but was sitting in detention and likely to be fast-tracked for deportation…but once she was given the option to go back with him or stay, she barely hesitated. She said she planned to stay since her baby would have citizenship. She wanted guidance on how to navigate the system legally to best position herself for help and a shot at potentially helping the baby daddy join them later. There was zero chance he would ever be allowed here legally (and this was years ago under a different president). Even when she heard that, she still wanted to stay.

Can’t say I really blame her.

New poster. I am no Joe Rogan fan, but at least he has a heart. He has been shocked by some of Trump's actions I give him credit for that.

Not sure what incident he is referring to but there have been a few horrific ones. There was one a couple of months ago where Trump sent the dad to El Salvador, them mom back to Venezuela, and kept the baby. It was shocking and an atrocity. It took the Venezuelan government to negotiate (and make themselves heroes, nice job Trump) for the mom to get her baby back weeks later. Apalling. And the poor dad is in El Salvador.

The toddler was properly cared for in foster care, and returned in a short time. Same things that would happen if I were to be arrested for a crime and unable to temporarily care for my child (and there is not a family member eligible to do so). Child goes to foster care while it is figured out.

Stop conflating immigration with crimes of violence. They are not the same. Theres also no evidence provided by the government about their gang involvement nad they gave pretty specific accusations so they should be able to back it up.

Leave it up to the parent.

Tell them they are leaving. They can choose to take the child with them or not. Make the decision and then document the decision.
