It seems Overlee was missing a few key swimmers in the 11-12 girls' category. While it’s unclear how much of a difference their presence would have made, the results suggest their absence may have had an impact.

It has been a long long time since another team other than Chesterbrook or Tuckahoe has won a dual meet against Overlee though, right? Like 20-25 years?
I was curious so I just wasted 15 minutes of my life looking this up. The last time Overlee lost to a team that wasn't Chesterbrook or Tuckahoe was 7/16/2005 when they lost to Vienna Aquatic. Vienna Aquatic also beat Chesterbrook and Tuckahoe that year to finish 5-0.
Overlee lost to Vienna Aquatic in 2004 and 2003. In 2003 Overlee was 0-5 with losses to Vienna Aquatic, Hamlet, and Fairfax Station (as well as Chesterbrook and Tuckahoe).
In 2002 there were only 3 meets. Not sure why the last two that year were canceled for all teams? In 2001 Overlee lost to Fairfax Station.
Results and standings for years prior to that are not compiled on the NVSL website. You have to click into each meet and look at the PDF result file to figure out who won. I'm not enough of a masochist to do that! So since 2001 Overlee has lost 7 times (counting yesterday) to a team not named Chesterbrook or Tuckahoe.
Not quite sure how this took you 15 minutes. And the meets weren't canceled in 2002. Overlee went 2-3 and finished in 4th place overall (losing to FFX station, Tuckahoe and Chesterbrook). The real surprise is how Overlee stayed in Division 1 in the early 2000s.
The NVSL website only has 3 meets listed for all teams in 2002. Where are you getting your information from? https://www.mynvsl.com/standings?year=2002
NVSL website:
https://www.mynvsl.com/schedules?year=2002&div=1&date=
You can also look at overall records here:
https://www.mynvsl.com/file/36582/NVSL_Team_W_L_History_through_2024_updated_7_17_24_pdf
That would let you know the last time Chesterbrook lost to a non-Overlee/Tuckahoe team was to Hamlet in 2007.

Completely agree with the second sentence but what the heck are you saying with the first other than bragging an Olympian lives on your block. Nobody is arguing you have to swim at the highest levels of the NVSL (or country club) to be great and certainly nobody is arguing that the NVSL division 1 teams have cornered the market on all great swimmers. The difference between the top and bottom divisions has always been depth of great swimmers and consistency, not lone examples of greatness.
It's just summer swim. Good for your Olympian for swimming country club (and whatever Club actually trained them).
It’s the poster than loves to point out that Torri Huske stayed with AAC, completely ignoring what an outlier she has proven to be.
The point is there is an OP freaking out about swim clubs for early elementary school aged students and wanting to switch pools (and good luck with that in Arlington) because of some fear of being shut out of future greatness rather than letting things happen in the perfectly good pool to which they already belong.
Bless your heart. You don’t get sarcasm, do you? The OP was clearly a joke.

I don’t think that people outside of D1 understand that outside of Tuckahoe or Chesterbrook any of the other pools can beat each other on any given day. There are a ton of talented kids on all of them. So much depends on match ups, who is or isn’t there, and who wins those super close races…
Congratulations to OKM but I have no doubt that OLV will be just fine.
It has been a long long time since another team other than Chesterbrook or Tuckahoe has won a dual meet against Overlee though, right? Like 20-25 years? I would amend your sentence to “outside of Tuckahoe, Chesterbrook, or Overlee,” any of the other teams can beat each other. I think that’s why OKM winning was an accomplishment.
I didn’t realize that commenting that all the teams in D1 (and D2) would take way from OKM’s win…
ALL HAIL OKM!!!!
On their way to becoming the new Tuckahoe and Chesterbrook of attitude
