I recall there being a lot of "hooking up" in high school (and at beach week) that did not involve literal sex. Are you just assuming it's actual sex? I am wondering if times have changed that much...

the chaperones are here in case of emergency only and to ensure the kids have regular meals. I am not here to police adult children besides requiring that everyone come home by 1am. most houses do not have any curfew and other houses have no adult on site at all.
policing behavior is on the parents who sent their kids. I am not going to wrestle a drink from an adult. if you sent your kid but they still require an adult to ensure they abstain from drinking or from sleeping around when drunk then why aren't you here or why didn't you teach your child how to behave to your standard?
There are probably 100 houses of kids. Every public, private and Catholic from the DMV and many houses from most schools.
Regular meals?! That’s not a chaperone, that’s hired help. And the parents send alcohol? In my day, we had to beg someone’s older sibling to hook us up. These kids are so freaking spoiled, I can’t imagine having to be in college with these kids who don’t know how to anything by themselves.

I think the best thing to do is to be sure there is birth control and condoms available and lots of education about consent and saying no. The sex will happen regardless of if its casual or with a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I know what's going on for the first time in my parenting experience because everyone is tipsy and they share with friends and then they share with me. Conversation here is probably 1000 times more open than it ever is at home.
I'm having a hard time not being disturbed by some of this as the boys have apparently made it very clear that it's only sex. However, then I wonder if maybe it's all just good fun and maybe it's positive and empowering that these girls are doing what they want and what feels good. Thoughts?
It isn’t empowering but yeah, a lot of little sluts and trollops are into casual sex these days.
