My son who is into fashion and has tons of sneakers has been wearing Asics metallics recently. I'm feeling the metallic look (which is more urban) may seep into the mainstream in a few months.

Who cares. Wear what you like and what is comfortable. I just discovered hoka and they’ve been a godsend for my plantar fasciitis. I didn’t care what brand they were. I tried on all of the shoes and chose the one that was best for me.

I mainly use Brooks for serious walking but that said, my On-Cloud slip on waterproof shoes probably get the most wear for travel and errands.

I blame ONs for putting me in the position to get posterior tibial tendonitis, which was extremely painful for me for an entire year. I only wore them to do two mile walks around my neighborhood, but they lack support and are really hard on the ankles somehow. And I do think they have become dorky....I only ever see them on pretty elderly and/or unfashionable people nowadays.

I only wear New Balance 880s now.

I love Hokas. They are truly the only sneaker I can wear without pain. That said, I know I'm deluding myself by thinking I look anything like the cute Free People/Anthro girlies when I wear them (and where they are still sold in every color and style possible). On Clouds had their day but I still see them styled fashionably, just rarely by anyone middle aged or older.
