Why is Jeff deleting posts that point out that Harvey Milk was a documented pedophile.

The evidence is strong. It includes extensive research by Randy Shilts, a credible, well-respected gay journalist who wrote the definitive biography on Harvey Milk. Shilts devoted a lot of space to Milk's lifelong preying on drug-addicted teenagers because that was part of Milk's brand. He used his work with at-risk homeless youth to find boys who fit his liking and then he would move them into his home and keep them supplied with drugs in return for sex. Shilts named several of Milk's victims and also named Milk's friends and family, who corroborated all of it on the record because Milk was open about his fixation on underage boys and his use of drugs to lure them.

You really think this isn't a relevant consideration in deciding whether to keep Harvey Milk's name on ships?

DP. I despise Trump and damn near everything he stands for with all my fiber, but I am in agreement with this partisanship regarding inappropriate sexual behavior. There should be no whataboutism in this matter. Hopefully the future will judge Trump accordingly and he will receive no favorable acknowledgment and honors. Until that time comes, there is no need to honor a man who history has shown engaged in sexual relations with a minor. Anyone who disagrees should close their eyes and imagine if that 16-year old was their child have sexual relations with a 30+ year old person, male or female. Sounds like grooming.

+1000. It was absolutely grooming and molestation. The gulf between those ages is HUGE developmentally and experience-wise.

Harvey Milk had been out of college longer than the 16 year old's oldest memory and likely longer than the 16 year old had been alive.

The 16 year old would have started puberty no more than 5 years earlier and possibly just a couple years before Harvey Milk started using him sexually.

Any adult having sex with a kid who was in 5th Grade just five years ago is a predator. No ifs, ands, or buts.
