Student body is a little hipper than most Catholic schools but also druggier. Good academics and job opportunities but less of that clean-cut preppie vibe than at the BC/Villanova type schools.

This was our experience. DC attending a different school given difference in merit $$.

We have a family friend who is a professor there and he loves it. Seems like a great school.

I went to Fordham - social life was a lot of Thursday/Friday at the local bars/parties, Saturday night in the city. With everyone sleeping in, and kids that went home on weekends, the campus could be quite dead if you were there on a weekend at noon.

Lots of local kids - not a commuter school but feels that way in a sense. Kids from Chaminade, Delbarton, Sacred Heart, Marymount, Dominican, etc. who are bright but didn't get into ND, BC, Villanova or didn't want to go away.


don’t think delby has sent a kid to Fordham in at least five years. They have a direct pipeline to ND, and then the rest of the graduating class is at top 20s or WASP for sports. Chaminade is probably closer to Fordham target for applicants


What’s WASP for sports?


Not the person you're quoting, but I believe WASP = Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore and Pomona.

Very surprising (not questioning you, just saying it is surprising). I know a few Delbarton grads who went to ND and they really pride themselves on that pipeline. They also like to tell you it is harder to get into Delbarton than Harvard - Delbarton has plenty of great people but also more than its fair share of insufferable types who would be very well served to get out of the very insular Catholic school pipeline and go somewhere else.

They also produce a ton of athletes.
