So women are supposed to just sit home being baby machines, unable to even own a credit card? People certainly do idolize the 50's. I mean, men do.

Slaving away at the office under the thumb of some dude is a total gain!

At least there's wine at home.

At least I'm earning money and can support the family if my husband leaves. Better than being left with no money and no credit like yesteryear.

As for PPs comment about women not liking other women's choices, I have to wonder why in this day and age, women have babies when they have no job or skill and many are not even married. Why would anyone put themselves in this position and expect others to pick up the tab when they can't support themselves if baby daddy disappears?

Good question. I think some people are stuck behind computers and don't interact with real people and come up with some odd ideas.

Well, they will certainly be choosing dogs.

Thinking men are dogs is what got your liberal party in the position it’s in right now.

Equality and removing structural barriers that were based on gender alone were neccessary and long overdue changes to our society. The main thing that bothers me today is how it all played out. Rather than creating a more feminine society that prioritizes family and a balanced home/work life we ended up with women who started to act like the worst men. We needed a softer society and we ended up with the opposite.

Definition of equality: the right of different groups of people to have a similar social position and receive the same treatment

Why would you think equality would make a more feminine society? Men traditionally have held all the wealth and power. By definition, equality puts to put women in a similar social position to men. Any woman with any sense knows that femininity doesn’t square with getting into equal footing as men.

Throwing the term femininity around in this context is code for anti equality.

How about the men be the ones to create a softer society?

I came across this article about how large the gap is politically between gen z men and women. It’s effecting mostly westernized countries. Specifically in this country there was a 16 point gap in the 2024 election. It isn’t just here in America. It talks about little bit about Korea and how the young men are blaming women for the issues that their country faces. They don’t have much racial diversity or immigration there so Women are the only people to “blame”. The birth rate situation there is a disaster, and I’m sure the animosity doesn’t make it better. I think deep down this whole global phenomenon is a pushback against feminism.

This phenomenon is observed in the most elite schools and univerisites in our country as well. Women are performing better academically and are liberal while boys on the same campus are conservative relative to women.

Jeff Seligo of DCUM fame did a podcast on this recently: https://www.futureupodcast.com/episodes/the-lost-boys-of-higher-ed/

Women carry the children. Sorry the men do not agree with the women. The women put life and limb on the line e to carry the man’s offspring. The men are going to have to agree with the women or no more society. Unless the men resort to rape. Then there is no society.

Not sure why you think men have problem with a society with rape as its foundation. That's how most of the world has worked for all of history.

Well, women can carry guns now, so it won't be as easy as it once was.

OMG what a load of crap. The reason "dudes" won't sign on with the Democrats is because they would actually have to "man up", start carrying their weight, being decent human beings, etc. FFS. They are a bunch of whiny babies. Real men are not afraid of accomplished women and real partners in life. Real men care about being good fathers. Real men step up, they don't whine and cop out.

Sure. Keep telling yourself that. You have a huge percentage of young men turning away from democrats. They don’t like your agenda, honey.

Any man who thinks being a good person, a good spouse/partner, a good parent, etc. is an "agenda" is not wanted. By anyone.

Buh-bye.

The simple truth of this issue is that once restrictions on women achieving the same education and working in the same fields as men were lifted, women achieved and excelled at the same rate as men. Men perceive this as threatening as it basically forces them to change the way they function in the world - i.e. - women aren't dependent on them for social status or financial security. The surge of the right is an attempt to turn back the clock.

Men couldn’t be happier that women are finally pulling their own weight financially, but if you want to make them fathers you need to figure things out. Men generally don’t want children.

Weird response.

Not really. Men don’t want SAHMs. They want them to make money. Hopefully the woman makes a lot of money. Rarely does a man with a wife that makes decent money say, “hey, you should have a baby.” That’s not what they want. Wives decide they want to have children. Men aren’t driving that bus.

In most countries (Korea is an exception) the shift of young women moving further left has been more pronounced then young men turning right.

Harris gets a lot of anger for not marketing to gen z boys, but it’s not like Trump promoted to the girls. The parties are getting gender split.

Men can and do carry children, as well as give birth to children, too. You are a major bigot, PP.
