"Bathtub Gin" is easy to make yourself if you want to play with botanicals and ratios. Not talking about distilling the vodka and all that, just using the vodka and flavoring it, either pot boil or infused methods.

Juniper berries are plenty in the USA as they are everywhere to pick yourself, and just mix and match whatever other botanicals you might like, with some grain alcohol 80-100 proof vodka.

A nice potato vodka might make a neat tasting gin also.
