They always had such a date. However, usually the government ignores the 'temporary' in 'temporary protected status' and keeps extending it.
The law that allows such status, also says that the status or removal of status cannot be reviewed by the courts.

I'm reading today with Harvard is that 30% of their student body is from China and the CCP brags that Harvard is their "Party School" and itis looked on favorably by those that go in to the mainland's government organizations after going to Harvard. Apparently, Harvard gets 70 million a year from the PRC and has a big influence on our own government with many public service programs of study.

Source is the Harvard Crimson and the Wall Street Journal.

Any truth to this?

The supreme court voted in favor of the Trump admin to allow the end of TPS for Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans. About 530,000 people.

TPS: TEMPORARY Protected Status.

TEMPORARY, adjective; lasting for only a limited period of time; not permanent.

That is fine, if the emergencies that enabled them to be here has been lifted. They haven't.

In the meantime, there are entire towns that depend on these people to keep businesses running and society progressing. Ripping them out will shut these places down. How is that helpful to anyone?

Oh no! what will people do with their slaves!

Pay people decent wages and provide good quality health insurance for employees?

Nooooooo! This is not my America!

Honestly, this is all fear from mediocre white people that can’t compete. They can’t get into Harvard because international students are more qualified. They can’t get jobs because they aren’t good enough and don’t work hard enough. So, instead of competing, they try to blame it on the process. It’s DEI. It’s scary brown people. Those people are illegal.

These people in the country illegally come to work, hard, and they know the deal. They send their kids to school. The kids work hard. They own businesses or enter professions. They leave the lazy people behind.

So, now the lazy mediocre folks have a new god, a god of mediocrity. He’s going to replace those evil hard workers with fellow mid white folks. The administration has been doing it all along. Now Trump is here to get back at Harvard for turning him away in favor of more qualified people.

Seems like the last stand of a bunch of losers that got together and voted to protect the losers club.

Except that brown and Black people voted for him too. He got a fair number of Latino men to vote for him.

And they are currently in the midst of FAFO. There are viral videos of Hispanic men being swept up for deportation and they are screaming they are American. Prove it.

Here you go.

Yes. I don’t understand TPS for El Salvador. It is now considered one of the safest and economically viable countries on that continent.

“WHO WILL PICK THE COTTON?!?!” Democrats in 1864

WHO IS GOING TO PICK MY ORGANIC NONGMO STRAWBERRIES?!?! Democrats in 2025.

Well, considering the fact that Democrats are wealthier and more educated and gainfully employed than Republicans, the answer to your second question is: poor, white Republicans. Who is going to lose their limbs in factories with lowered safety standards? Poor, white Republicans. Who is going to work for little pay in factories? Poor, white Republicans. Because the Republicans are also the ones adding those pesky work requirements for Medicaid and guess who makes a majority of Medicaid recipients? Poor, white Republicans.

96m people in the US are on Medicaid.
43% of those are white people.
Only 28% of those are Hispanic.

That is so sweet, only to want brown people to be paid slave wages and lose limbs. What a big ole softy you are!

And I know math is hard, but considering that whites are 75% of the population and Hispanics are about 20%, you may want to check out what a "proportion" or "ratio" is. Maybe ask a wise friend or your husband.

LOL, love it! A condescending idiot. Dems have tried to improve conditions for workers, no matter their skin color. MAGA hates brown people AND workplace protections. Maybe you should read project 2025.

Importing millions of workers to compete with and depress wages of American workers is not helping working class.

Except you know that isn't what is happening in places like Springfield or Lima Ohio.

Surprisingly there are more places in the US.

Point to me a place in the US where these 500k people with TPS are deflating American wages and taking jobs.

I think there is a deal between him and Bukele. He is a fellow right winger and is really into bitcoin. A lot of El Salvador’s money comes from remittances from people living in America.

Biden prioritized jobs over inflation. He left with a 4% unemployment rate. Where are these magical US workers coming from????

You can’t have it both ways. Oh, unless you’re really just racist. 😱

Considering that one of these people had status prior to 2022/2023, it seems easy enough to return things to the way they were. If one president can unilaterally enact it, why couldn't another unilaterally revoke it?

The darker ones will be violently apprehended and deported to Libya or El Salvador. I wonder how places like Springfield, OH will survive?

We cannot keep depending on poor people fleeing their poverty and war torn countries for cheap labor.

Is that the American dream? Come to America and work menial jobs for minimum wage and live in a slum.

The point is, as the daughter of immigrants who became millionaires, is that when you've only known poverty, you have a hunger to do well. You are grateful for any work. You will pretty much do whatever it takes and work in the US is typically better than elsewhere. But if you have always had it pretty good in this country, you want to pick and choose what you'll do and there isn't the ambition and drive to push you to work hard and start at the bottom. Now that's not applicable for everyone but it is very often the case.

If you truly want to let immigrants go, Americans will have to rise to do some of that hard labor which is just really hard to find. Immigrants are driven in a way Americans are not.

You are a millionaire?

You haven’t paid your fair share of taxes.

That’s nothing to brag about.

You need to pay more in taxes to help people.
