My son went there.
I hated it when I was there. It probably set me up for life. Middle school is a nightmare but that school had me freaked out over homework, class rank and wore me out with sports during what are critical development years. I still wear the classic blue / white hoodie sweatshirt occasionally.. I like the Latin and powerful message. Went to a wedding last week and decided to wear blue blazer, light blue collared shirt and light kacki slacks (Tailored these days) the old uniform looked great! My son is a low-average athlete and the school knew exactly how hard to push him athleticly and in academics. My most memorable teachers in my life were from from MD ...real characters and just the right amount of scary lol. Nothing else like it.

Is it a fair assumption that quality suffer with new headmaster and teachers?

Also, who feeds most into Gonzaga? St Johns?
I went to MD and Prep. I’m sending my kid to parochial school (and probably Prep but who knows).
There is no one feeder parochial school. There are many parochial schools that send some but not all boys to Prep. Go look at the ones near your house and pick one that’s a good fit. Where you think your kid will fit in and get a rigorous education.

Almost every 8th grade boy at St Jane DeChantal goes to GP, Gonzaga or St John’s for high school.
Thanks. Happen to have a sense of a breakdown of how many go to each? Is St Jane Middle School feeder the most reputable after Mater Dei?
Look up Our Parish Times, their May edition always includes lists of parochial school graduates with high school destinations. St. Jane is there.
But honestly the parochial schools closest to Prep send the most graduates there, just because those families want Prep. It's not a situation where one parochial school has a much better relationship with the school and has more pull in the admissions office.

St Elizabeth, St Jane, Holy Cross, Holy Redeem.... Does it matter which? Do you just need to be the top candidate or two from those schools and you'll get in to Prep, Gonzaga?
MCPS quality is lower than expected so really starting to focus on this for my kids who are in the early years of elementary school.
You are not bright are you .
You don’t like the stats of the fact MCPS sends more kids to better colleges or higher ranked one’s?
