I’m literally on UA 804 as I write this and the temperature is perfect, as it has been the last three times I was recently on this/803 (outbound) flight. I hate it when planes are hot.

I travel a lot and wear compression socks (I wear bombas), slip on shoes (today vionic ), comfy pants (athleta) and a t-shirt (Nordstrom Rack brand with cap sleeves). I also usually wear some kind of structured but casual blazer or zip up sweater.

Same. I love the Athleta Brooklyn mid rise pant. Super comfortable and lightweight for hot weather. If I’m dying when I get off the plane when being transferred to my hotel, I just roll them up even though that’s not the most fashionable. they’re so light That usually don’t need to do that.

I prefer leggings or joggers rather than looser pants so that nothing drags on the gross plane bathroom floors.

When i flew w my kids when they were young, i brought a change of clothes, hospital vomit bags and lots of wipes. They threw up on every flight

Why do u want to be fashionable?

I wear some wide leg pants (I have a pair from Varley that are super comfortable, a t shirt and a denim jacket, I usually have a cashmere hoodie from quince with me too to layer as planes can be freezing. I also wear support socks and sneakers, support socks are key for my feet not swelling (the only time I ever swell is on long haul flights). Can’t imagine flying in an dress, my legs/ankles would freeze even if it is a maxi dreS

Wow - I remember looking through those catalogs in junior high. I didn’t realize they were still around!
I fly long haul a lot and basically have a uniform. My kids make fun of me bc I almost always wear some iteration of frank & eileen billion dollar pants in black or navy, a sleeveless or short sleeve white top that’s long enough to deal with overheads and then either a fitted blazer or a cardigan, often a Varley zip up one. I often accessorize w/ a few necklaces or a scarf. If where I’m landing is hot, I stick the blazer in my carry on but have it to go over dresses in the evening. I generally wear a pair of cute sneakers that don’t need socks and just put on the plane socks after takeoff until prep for landing. The blazer and sleeveless shirt give me the most flexibility for cold or hot flights, and the pants have pockets.
