I have a 13-year-old daughter. Some of her friends are 5'7 but she still looks WAY older than them.
You don't see much of her in public, but here's a clip of an interview Blue Ivey and Beyonce did last year while recording for the Mufasa movie. She doesn't appear overly grown, overly sexualized, too mature, etc. She seems like a very sweet and well-mannered young girl.
+1 That serious vibe could just be how she reacts to all the attention, not a sign that she's unhappy. None of us can even fathom walking a day in her shoes.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Blue Ivy looks dead inside. There’s no spark or joy coming from her. That might just be nerves of being in the public eye on stage/in interviews.

That is an exaggerated walk that runway models and performers are known for. It's not a "drag queen walk". She's performing the Deja Vu choreography that Beyoncé did almost 20 years ago for the Deja Vu music video, and how she still performs it to this day.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Here is a video of one of her solos. Something about her walk is strange and makes her look like she was born male. It looks exaggerated, like a drag queen's walk.

Anonymous wrote:I was surprised to see that Beyoncé’s daughter is now pretty much a full on performer / dancer with solos and all. She looks so adult like. You would think with everything Beyoncé knows about the industry, that she wouldn’t want her 13 year old front and center. I feel like it is so rare for teens in this high profile roles and in the music industry to ever turn out well as adults.

She has been with Beyoncé for 7 years and recently became known as Blue's "stage momma." She's been a mentor and protector of Blue during the last tour and has continued through this new tour. She is always dancing close to Blue on stage.Anonymous wrote:Here is a video of one of her solos. She has her own back up dancers. Hard to believe she is just 13 (turned 13 in January).

It’s interesting how posters express “concern” about Blue Ivy’s upbringing without acknowledging the context or underlying biases. Blue is 13 years old and happens to be the daughter of two world-famous entertainers. Of course, her life is going to look different from the average teen’s — just like it does for any child of celebrities. That doesn’t mean she’s being deprived of a "normal" childhood, it just means her normal is different. Let’s not forget Beyoncé is known to be incredibly private and intentional when it comes to her children. From what’s publicly known, Blue is involved in school, dance, and other age-appropriate activities.
Also, let’s be honest: Black children are regularly adultified. What Blue Ivy is doing — dancing on stage with her mother — is not harmful or inappropriate. She’s being celebrated by her family, cheered on by audiences, and seems genuinely joyful. I see no problem?
Her dance moves aren’t sexualized, and she is fairly covered up. I think the dancing was done tastefully and they toned it down from the original Deju Vu music video dance moves.
Her dance moves are very much sexualized for a young teen who just turned 13.
It’s not anything worse than what you woulRd see at your average cheer or dance competition.
Rumi was so excited and happy.Anonymous wrote:Rumi looked so happy to be up there! She was smiling, waving at the crowd, hugged her mom, and then Blue walked her off stage — it was such a sweet moment. You could tell she was loving it. I really don’t get the hate. Most of us can’t relate to that kind of life, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It was a joyful, innocent family moment — not something that needs to be judged.Anonymous wrote:Where is all this judgements for scantly clad cheerleaders and cheerleaders performing in UCA dance competitions? Blue probably wants to perform with her mom. And the younger daughter appeared at the latest concert.
She’s nearly 5’7”
