If you see the husbands aging better you must be poor and run in poor circles.

Everyone I know with real money, the women look better by far. They start getting Botox by 30, get mommy makeovers after having kids, then start getting the more intense work (fillers, face lifts, nose jobs, etc) after 40.

I know multiple women who fly to various surgeons and injectors around the country, and many of them look 30-35 at age 50.

Men mature more slowly, physically and emotionally, and also age more slowly in later years.

Women basically look the same from 15 to 45 then age fast.

Reason why women prefer a man about 10-15 years older than them, so a 50 year old man who is in his prime still as far as attraction, doesn't look at his 50 year old wife and say "Oof, it's like I'm out with my mom!"

50 year old men want 30-35 year old women. Natural and evolutionary.

Me, the wife, 100%. I’m from the south though and know how much effort to expend for maximal results. A healthy dose of vanity is not a bad thing.

I'm surprised to see these responses. When I look around my neighborhood and kids' school community, most of the dads in their 50s look worse than the women. There are some silver foxes to be sure but most are bald, bad skin and overweight, and the ones who obviously put a lot of time into their appearance are cyclists who give off a sleazy vibe

I think for women the biggest challenge is accepting that they are not old at 30. For real lol. As soon as women turn 30 they start being negative about their looks. You guys are your worst enemy. It's strange because men do not go for much younger women as much as you hear about some anecdotes. Men go for any woman that's available to them. Perhaps older women are going for younger men and that's why men can't find women their age and go younger as well.

While we men may look we are aging better, we are not getting healthier as we age. People say men don't bait the doctor often and that true, but the one reason IMO women are healthier as they age is because their body sends them signals they can't ignore. We men on the other hand it's slow damage happening without us recognizing it or our body sending us the signal to see a doctor ASAP. So I'll say women here because I rather look older but otherwise healthier as I age.

Internalized misogyny makes us think men age better. The question is impossible to answer without all of the bias you don't even know you have.

In our case me (the DH) by far. We are both 48 and DW has aged significantly. It could be menopause, genes (obesity run in her family), anything really. While she looks much older I still love her and will never leave her for someone "younger" can't believe I even have to type that.

I may have age well (of course I will eventually look my age one day) because of 1 exercise. That exercise is rowing. I am an avid rower and hiker as well. All I do is row, hike, and do squats and pull up. We do work out together with DW but her body just responds differently. But the most important thing though despite the fact she looks older and has a few pounds she wants to lose she is otherwise healthy and that's what matters. Look is just a bonus if you are healthy.

Women are far more likely to have mental problems - especially serious mental problems - and be on medication for them, than are men.

My DH aged better than I did. By far. Fortunately I'm a decade younger.

Generally speaking, most men tend to "age better." Or perhaps they don't -- we just don't age them harshly for doing so.

DH body is better than mine. He has one of those jobs that pays him to work out and hasn't birthed two children so of course he wins there.

The women are absolutely aging much much better. Women today in their 40s and 50s look amazing compared with previous generations. We don't smoke, we exercise, eat well, take supplements, start Botox early. We don't do "old lady" haircuts. Men are starting to take more care of themselves, but in general are much worse off. They don't understand skincare, don't cook as healthy or at all, more illness, die younger. This "health gap" is well-documented thing.
