EVERYONE needs to start thinking more deeply about the societal implications of the work they do, and stop letting the wealthy hold a gun to our heads in the form of unemployment and homelessness, believing we have no other choice than to aid them in their endless profit seeking at the expense of literally every else on this planet.

We dont have to help them wage war. We dont have to help them destroy the environment. We dont have to help them enslave people in for profit prisons. We dont have to help them starve people for profit. You have agency, and the blood IS on your hands.

Already did. Walked away from corporate marketing about a year ago because I could no longer stomach the lying, manipulation, carelessness with people's data, and enriching billionaires.

If you didn't have empathy for people who had the choice between compliance with a medical directive to have a vaccine injected into their body or quit a job and give up earned income needed by their families during a volatile recession... don't expect a lot of sympathy for yourself.

Biden announced that 17 million health care workers at hospitals and other health care settings like dialysis clinics and home health agencies that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding will have to be vaccinated.

There will be similar requirements for teachers and staff at the Head Start early education program and other federally funded educational settings, such as schools on military bases.

As a healthcare worker, I generally did not have patience for those who worked in HEALTHCARE refusing vaccination.

I also know those who refused were generally not providers, nurses, but the lower the clinical education level, the less likely to get vaccinated. Most likely were doctors, NPs/PAs, nurses (and ICU nurses were more likely than floor nurses); least likely were cleaning folks, transporters, cafeteria workers.

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll last week found that 50% of U.S. adults support employers requiring vaccination to return to in-person work, while 44% do not. The poll did not ask about government mandates for businesses.

The vaccine mandate rule coming from the federal government, as opposed to being individually enforced, will shield many employers from facing the brunt of potential blowback, said employment lawyer Brett Coburn of firm Alston & Bird.

"I'm sure there will be a lot of employers who chafe at this for a variety of reasons, but some employers I think may welcome it," he said. "It kind of takes it out of their hands to some extent to say, 'Sorry, OSHA said we have to do this and we have to follow what OSHA tells us.'
