+1 UGA has more southerners. UF has more northern transplants from south Florida areas. Athens is prettier and has more history than Gainesville. Depends on which you prefer.
I actually don’t think you’re correct on this. College factual states UF and UGA both have 11% out of state students.
PP here. What I meant is that south Florida and some other areas have more transplants from up north living there. Georgia has more native southerners. Athens is a very pretty, southern city.
Tons of UGA kids are from the Atlanta suburbs. Athens is very liberal.
I live in the Atlanta area, so I'm fully aware. UGA and Athens have a much more southern vibe than UF.
+1. This is true. UGA feels very SEC/Southern whereas Florida is known as the Berkeley of the South…much different vibes.

Having spent time at both UGA and UF, I strongly disagree. I think UF and Gainesville are far superior to UGA/Athens.
You’re in the minority. Weird take
I agree with PP. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean it’s a minority opinion…

Maybe but Florida has more transplants to begin with and is pretty diverse as is.
Does the FL governor value diversity?
He's Italian-American. What do you think?

Anonymous wrote:Athens is consistently voted best college town in the south. UF is nice, but let’s be real, it doesn’t compare to the UGA campus and Athens.
