I disabled mine, but I also travel to countries known for drugging tourists/Americans. I travel with a burner phone that doesn't have any passwords or investing apps. It's wild how much information is on our phones, but at the end of the day there is only so much you can do, especially if there is threat of violence.

Sure but then they can direct you to unlock your phone with your passcode. If you refuse, they could seize your phone.
Right, they seize your phone. But it’s locked. So it’s an inconvenience when you have to replace it. But you’re not being arrested for your social media posts or texts. When the phone unlocks with facial recognition, they don’t hand it back to you. They go through all your personal information. I’d rather have my phone seized. Enjoy that expensive brick.
I have absolutely nothing to hide. Zero. Zilch. However, I have never, ever posted my political views online nor do I post anything incriminating on social media. Maybe you should have thought twice before posting your online rant. They can look through my phone all they want.

Read the article. He was specifically flagged due to his representation of a U of Mich student protester. They aren’t just profiling random Arab Americans.

Yes, those were not US citizens but they are targeting white people too.
Yes, I know. But I think there’s a big difference in their approach between citizen and non-citizen. I think it was BOTH his ethnicity and what he does that made him a target. I just don’t believe a white US citizen would have been stopped—which isn’t right, either. None of it is right.

Of course it was- but seems pretty apparent nothing to do with anything criminal history, etc. What if you are listed online as an employee of an organization that they have decided is an enemy of the administration? Maybe a big law firm or a university? The slope is very slippery here.
