Subject: Handmaid's tale, season 6
So many people online are crying over Nick. It’s like the point of the show went entirely over their heads. Not only did they conveniently forget his little insurrectionist, murdering backstory, but they also just casually dismiss the fact that he left his pregnant wife behind in occupied Boston. That’s a man choosing power and his own survival over everything else…AGAIN.
Lawrence, on the other hand, I get. That was a well done redemption arc. He recognized his sins and eventually gave his life trying to atone for them.

I thought the last episode was pretty lame. The voiceover was so cheesy. This show needed to end at least one season ago, if not more.

He was acting at aunt lydians orders. When aunt Lydia told him to drop the gun he did. Either he was himself pretty conflicted or he made a calculated judgement that 50 angry women (who maybe have knives?) could eventually overpower one guy with a pistol (which might only have 6 cartridges). He pretty clearly did not want to have to shoot June.

He was some young kid who wasn't prepared to shoot a bunch of unarmed, crying women.

No, I was asking about the commander. In the very last scene there was a plus-sized handmaid behind him. I don't remember seeing him before.
Was it Serena’s new husband? Or where is commander bell senior? Aren’t there some commanders in DC who didn’t come to the wedding? I’m just confused how Boston is the focus but it seems like DC is still the capital.
One thing that bothered me about the series is all the recent pop culture references. I get that it’s supposed to make us feel like this could happen tomorrow but it just doesn’t make sense. How do you go immediately from a world where Rihanna is still a big cultural touchstone to one where the econopelle only have grey clothing ? It doesn’t make sense unless there is at least a generation or two gap for things to fall apart.
It was just some commander. It's not that deep - it was to make a point that the posted Handmaids were all killing their commanders because this is the start of a revolution.
As to the rest of your post I really don't know what to say. Are you sure you've watched the show?

June killed the commander who was holding Janine captive. She did it to rescue her.
I think Serena will seek help from Nick to escape. And I bet June will hit a crossroads where she must decide whether to kill them both or leave them be. I suspect she will choose the latter—and then there will be some long-winded voiceover about how she wouldn’t let them turn her into a monster…and about how letting them live the rest of their lives with their demons is the best revenge.
The rambling voiceover about the red dresses was poorly written. Sure, there were some good bits, but it jumped around and really missed the mark.

No it wasn't. I watched it again and I'm thinking it was just some Commander we have never seen.

Lawrence is such a good character. He reminds me of some of the smarter republicans who helped enable the rise of trump. I would like more on his backstory but he reminds me of one of those debate champ types who just like an intellectual challenge but without really having a strong viewpoint themselves. He’s too cynical for that but the one thing he did care about was his wife. I hope he survives.
They said the bombs are still in lol a so I assume those will explode next week? I think the red center hand maies went to kill the commanders that don’t have a hand maid right? So that might include Nick?
