Maybe among the lower class. I don’t know anyone UMC or rich who is regularly using weed or edibles outside of maybe once as a gag while on vacation or something.

And health conscious has been very big among UMC and rich - fitness, Ozempic and other help from dermatologists, eating expensive organic food and supplements. Walking, hiking, and everyone wearing luxury yoga and form fitting active-wear on a near daily basis. Sobriety is a natural evolution of all of those trends. Being overweight with a bloated face is basically a prole tell at this point. Smart people aren’t duped by booze industry propaganda on commercials and in shows and movies.
Interesting. When I hear people making a big deal over not having even an occasional drink I think they're low IQ sheep or have drinking problems--so the opposite of discipline. Smart people with discipline know there is nothing wrong with enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine friends--or even by yourself--every now and then. If you have to go 100% without, it means you have no self-control.

I have maybe one drink a month because I simply don’t enjoy it like I used to. And it interrupts my sleep more as I get older.
It actually makes it easier for me to be more social, because now I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to feel the next morning, or how I’m getting home safely, etc. I’m more likely to say yes to things now.

The cannabis lobby is 100% behind this new temperance movement. Didn't think they had it in them to take on the alcohol lobby, but that is what is happening.

It’s absolutely a trend. My BIL owns college bars and he said college kids these days don’t drink at anywhere near the levels college kids did 10+ years ago.
And look at food menus at trendy restaurants frequented by DINKs and the affluent - precious menu real estate listing mock tails and 0% beers.
