Slow down. They are not equal in prestige. However, prestige is one of many considerations for someone as fortunate as the OP’s applicant.

UCLA ….its the only top 20 school in the mix. Gorgeous campus and its t-shirt weather nearly year-round. It also has the opportunity for a lot of year-round internships in Los Angeles which Chapel Hill and Charlottesville do not. It also has a decent D1 football team and an even better basketball team ..more rah rah and spirit than UVA and UNC.

Beyond that, it’s a matter of fit (major, non-academic quality of life, idiosyncrasies of the kid, school size, location type, distance from home / support system nearby, career outcomes, etc.) … depending on your capacity to do so, I would try to visit all three campuses with your kid in the next few weeks. Youtube flyovers and campus tours will provide some insight, but there’s nothing like walking the Hill at UCLA or the Lawn at UVA, etc.

I, too, love walking the Lawn. Looking at the Rotunda from the steps of Old Cabell Hall, especially at dusk and evening with lights on is special.

UCLA has a Business Economics major. I hate everyone studying business today. You learn business on the job. Better to study history, psychology, literature, anthropology. Understand people and humanity. College for learning about balance sheets? How sad.

Would pick UNC or UVA. Both have excellent undergraduate business programs. UCLA doesn’t have a dedicated undergraduate business school, and I don’t think UCLA even offers a finance major. Much better business education at the first two. All three offer data science major which is not true everywhere. UVA and UNC have dedicated data science schools. I’m not sure if UCLA does, although they have a good department.

My son got uva, ucla and Georgetown and is choosing bc of program he got in/environment and other factors.
I would have been thrilled for him to get any- and I would let her copies what she wants! She earned it!

I'm the OP. DC also got into Michigan but does not want cold and snow now that there are other options. Did not apply to Cal.
We are in the Maryland suburbs, closer to Baltimore than DC but two of the colleges are a drive and UCLA is a flight.
