Only to a woman with some kind of disordered personality.
Any rational, intelligent woman knows that there is a spectrum of physical beauty in our society and the large majority of us don't meet the above average or super model standard of beauty. Being average attractive is no big deal - it's a random expression of DNA how one's face/body looks, after all - it's nothing we can control beyond perhaps our fitness level but even then I can have a very fit body that is not shaped in a way that it meets societal standards for above average beauty.
Now, call me an average achiever and those would be fighting words, because my accomplishments are much more within my control. If I'm better educated than 85% of the population, I'm not average. If I'm in a profession with a limited membership, I'm not average.
Tell me I have an average character and we would definitely have to talk about that one, too.

Mostly women use it as a term to cut a man down to size even when it is not applicable.
Like most of these terms, it is becoming diluted to the point of meaninglessness.
Btw, a woman actually coined the term.
No, this is not at all true.
You need to educate yourself. Please watch the NetFlix documentary “Adolescence.”

I know what it means, and I know that men who claim membership to the Manosphere call themselves incels, they have whole groups dedicated to discussing their incel-ness.
I don’t get how a man can say he’s an incel to other men, but be mad when someone else calls them that.
Because the whole thing only functions by creating a shared experience of being shamed in the in-group so that you can point your rage at various out-groups, that is why.
These dudes are severely screwed up in the “development of emotional insight” department, to a man.

Sounds like atheist bullying, trying to normalize sexual degeneracy and hookup culture. Celibacy, purity and monogamy should be celebrated, not condemned. Same for kids staying away from porn and weed. Good on them.

If these men truly believe in the 80/20 rule, and subscribe to the “Manosphere”, how is it insulting to them to be described as an incel, a word created by the movement itself. Isn’t that exactly what they are being indoctrinated to believe? That because of women—not because of themselves—they aren’t having sex? What is insulting about being called a term your own cult coined?
Explain it to me like I’m 5, please.

Because you are literally telling them they are incapable of getting laid.
An “incel” literally translates to “involuntarily celibate.”
The wedge is they display characteristics that are unattractive to women — laziness, toxic masculinity, etc. But instead of improving themselves they have turned to misogyny, decided they are entitled to sex, get bitter, and blame women instead of themselves.
That’s it in a nutshell.
The bolded part is correct.
The non-bold part is wrong.
If you agree that they display characteristics that are unattractive to women, what do you think those characteristics are?
