And apparently that if you hold the door, there's harsher consequences? Also, a new bell for alerts?? Was that true? Do all High schools have this now?

I mean, opening the doors and letting people in are a safety issue 😅

It is strange that they were directed not to attend, undermining their authority.

It speaks volumes that the principal was directed not to attend. I believe that the BCC HS principal job will be posting shortly.

And I'm in the minority here, but I think the parent witch hunt against the principal is absurd. How is the principal of a school with 2200 kids going to prevent a fight from happening in a park a few blocks away during school hours? Should he be personally hunting down every kid who is absent to make sure they're not playing Jets and Sharks in the park? How is any administrator responsible for the fact that some half-wit brought an AirSoft gun in his backpack to show off?

Obviously there are real problems that need real solutions. But if you think that pushing out the principal is the answer, take a look at the rest of MCPS.
