In my local HS, in NoVa, teachers did not tell parents when a child announced a new name in class. I think it was their policy (but I’m not sure). This is not appropriate. Keeping secrets with children is simply wrong. Teachers should email parents of significant changes and social issues at school . Teachers honestly messed up.It’s not all on them as the medical community and AAP also participated. We are all paying now.
What does that have to do with getting rid of federal student loans and money to K-12?

In FCPS, my child was assigned essays from the discredited and bigoted 1619 Project for sophomore English class. This happened at McLean HS.
It was not the only example of indoctrination within FCPS.
Except...you are insane because it is neither discredited nor bigoted.

It's not keeping secrets. God you all are so dim. I have right now a cis male whose name is, let's say James Smith, in one of my classes. He goes by Mac in school. At conferences, his parents called him James. No one's heads exploded.

Have you always lived in such a tight bubble? I graduated high school 28 years ago and there were kids then that went by different names than what their parents called them. Teenagers trying on different personalities is NOT the issue you are trying to make it out to be.

Is this a specific example or something you heard about?
I’ve got a specific example out of LoCo. My kids bus driver told me she was not allowed to say anything(just do as told by kids) every time they wanted a new name change she had to adjust her seat assignment/labels. This was post covid so she had to assign seats/name labels etc.

You aren’t getting $$$ to send your kid to private school. Public schools will be defunded. People with the means will send their kids to private schools. The rest will have to deal with public schools.

American students were isolated during the pandemic. They got back to school and made social changes. Visible, new and uncomfortable ones (for others).
Teachers and their doctors got WAY ahead of their parents. Parents still basically “own” kids before 18. Parents got p#^d. Parents assigned blame apart from children. That is what the pp is saying. You don’t mess with parents and parenting, in general.
