It was sort of good for awhile, but I’m now in season 4 and so much of it is just god awful. There are only so many new enemies trying to get the Duttons one can watch without getting totally desensitized, Beth and Rip are abusive psychos, and the writer is now in the show, and is a jackass who I’m convinced hates all women.
And I’ve heard it only gets worse as Kevin Costner leaves, right?
I’m paying for it by season bc it moved off Netflix in the US.
Do I bother?

She was his only daughter--so she presumably reminded him of his late wife--and Jamie wasn't actually his son, he was secretly adopted, right? Beth also had his toughness. Ideally, Beth would get married to Rip and have had 5 or 6 grandkids. Only viewers are privy to why that's not possible and that 1 of those would-be grandkids was aborted with Jamie's help 20 years ago. Instead John was stuck with only one grandkid via the wacko his youngest son was dumb enough to procreate with.
You think Monica is a wacko? She’s the sanest of the bunch!
She was transparently a subversive far left wacko with loyalties to her ethnicity. And just an insufferable character. But we quit watching the show because the writing got so dumb and lazy.

Her rage just got old and calling her dad “daddy”
Lastly, it’s weird that no one ever acknowledged Lee after the second episode. Or seemed sad.
Yes! He was absolutely forgotten. But their mother wasn’t. They have flashbacks with her, etc.

Anonymous wrote:The cinematography alone is worth it. It would have been better if Jamie had killed Beth. I really hated all her diatribes and insults.
