Except there is a vaccine for measles and most people have been vaccinated at some point in the past 5 decades.
Except for little babies, but who cares about them.
Breast milk should convey measles antibodies.

You do realize that the vast majority of people in this country are vaccinated against the measles, right?
Sort of.
https://www.ffxnow.com/2024/10/01/fcps-launches-clinics-to-immunize-9000-still-unvaccinated-students/
As of last October,
FCPS officials reported last week that over 9,000 students — down from 29,000 in July — still need vaccinations against diseases like measles, polio and meningitis, potentially putting their enrollment at risk. The division has approximately 181,000 enrolled students for this year, as of September, according to FCPS data.
Hopefully, FCPS has vaccinated the rest of those MAGA students. Who knew we had so many MAGA in Fairfax County.

If I had to stay home for 12 months with a newborn, I would have gone CRAZY.
Not to mention some parents have jobs and need to work to survive. Skipping daycare isn't an option for many.
You mean just like we all had jobs during COVID too? If it was a real threat and I had a newborn I would stay home absolutely, even if it did suck. That being said-I would think daycare is a more controlled environment since they require proper on time vaccination. So the only exposure they would come in contact with would be unvaxxed parents and other newborns. But I still wouldn’t even take that risk.
Right but its was a global pandemic. this will not have the same response and people only care about babies in the womb
and daycares do not require vaccination. if its exempted by physician its legal. plus on time is 12-15mos. also staff may not be vaccinated. when i asked daycares about requiring vaccinations and verifying they said they couldnt because of hippa.i took that as a no
Ummm the daycare that my children go to absolutely requires vaccination records. You cannot enroll without them. And we get a notice every time they need to be updated. I’m sure some shady home daycares are much more lax about it though.
Yes they require them to be filled out but there is a spot for exemptions by physician. And they dont have to have them on the same timeline as required. The timeline is suggested as cumulative for the age range.
"Exemptions from a physical examination, immunizations, and Blood-Lead testing are permitted if the parent has an
objection based on their bona fide religious beliefs and practices. The Blood-Lead certificate must be signed by a Health
Care Practitioner stating a questionnaire was done.
Children may also be exempted from immunization requirements if a physician, nurse practitioner, or health department
official certifies that there is a medical reason for the child not to receive a vaccine.
The health information on this form will be available only to those health and child care providers or child care personnel
who have a legitimate care responsibility for the child."
So you wont ever know if a kid in your kids class was exempted from vaccination.
My reference to requiring vaccinations in the second part was specific to staff. I am aware HIPPA doesnt apply to me asking whether their policy is that staff must be vaccinated and require proof but the idea that their response was "Its HIPPA" told me two things 1) you dont know HIPPA 2) you are lying because you know outright saying that it isnt required will be an issue for most people because babies arent vaccinated so their caregivers should be and 3) you obviously dont require them so this is a no for me anyways

We are fortunate to live in an area that meets the vaccination rate needed for herd immunity. It’s not helping anyone to just stoke fear without facts. That is, frankly, what the other side does. If you have a newborn or are immunocompromised, ask your doctor whether you should avoid airports or low vax rate areas for the time being. And be glad you live in DMV area.
What's your source of data that people in the DMV area are in the aggregate sufficiently vaccinated to meet heard immunity (which is 94-95% for measles)?

except when a large enough portion of the population is vaccinated.
Also, post your source-not just your feelings.
