Oh! You might enjoy India Holton…many tongue in cheek literary allusions, funny and clever and plenty of open doors (it also has a dash of Victorian Britain, light witchcraft, a very empowered women). Start with the Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels.
And +1 to Bridgerton, well written and light (though not deeply literary).
I tried to read Outlander and it was terrible. Could not get into it because it was not written well. The show is much more ky jam.
