The federal government is already in charge of "all things crime" in DC. Now that you know that, what is your argument?


That the federal government should start enforcing it. If they do nothing else but stop young boys and men in DC from killing and maiming each other that would be a win. What DC is doing isn't working. In 2023 the murder rate was as high as it's been in almost 30 years.


The federal government can do that now. It has nothing to do with Home Rule. It's literally the feds who are dropping the ball on crime. So if you care about crime, more fed control is the wrong approach.

A hot mess where the city has a better bond rating that any state, per capita federal taxation is the highest in the country, houses sell for 7 figures and demand for rental units is through the roof.

Compare that to the average red state with lower GDP, higher per capita crime and youth climbing to leave for blue cities.

What If someone also told you that homelessness and crime go up as poverty goes up? So the same person that wants to fire government workers also wants to run the city?

Like Trump or the republicans are smart enough to remove federal income taxes from DC. They are not and they do not care about DC residents. They just want the DC police department under their control to crush protesters. Do not look for them to have trash pick up, clear the road after snow, stopping crime, etc.
