Watkins Glen and Letchworth State Parks are great in NY state.

Because she mentioned 2 parks she really wants to go to and people were giving input on whether concerns about those parks seemed warranted. Not all the info is in the post’s title.

I agree with Canada. The exchange rate is favorable to Americans, which makes it a bit cheaper. And there's so much to do. If you're looking for something rural, we just loved Tadoussac! It's quite a far drive but wonderful hiking, whale watching, etc. Gorgeous. And you can combine with with Quebec City and/or Montreal if you want to do city stuff as well.
