As a mum, as an old-timey feminist, should I take a minute to rejoice at our accomplishments? Am I allowed to do that? Tell me what to think!

Go away, bigot.

Amy Coney Barrett is mother of seven children, five biological and two adopted from Haiti. Amy found time to balance her family demands and her career, becoming the most accomplished professional in her family and the United States of America.

She could not do it without the support of the father of her children. While he also graduated from a top law school, he largely chose to take care of the family while Amy pursued her career.

The name DEI is new not the idea. Zip codes are still very much a thing.

Vance did well for a poor boy from a poor area (DEI) and then as a veteran (DEI.)

I received top grades, beat my classmates so many times I lost count, and I am an accomplished athlete. I am a minority to boot.

So what is the point of going after JD Vance about this? Or going after Condie or Collin for that matter?

Pointing out irony for a cheap chuckle? Seems like a useless exercise.

DEI doesn’t usurp merit. It compliments it. You seem to believe that the default for a merit based selection a white man.

And there we have a nice display of ignorance...Does anyone else truly believe that the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion are only a few years old?! That's the problem with reducing everything to soundbites - we're left with too many people who don't even know what they're complaining about.
It's DEI! It's woke! All these crazy new ideas are to blame for everything I don't like in my life! And it's only been around since 2021! I just can't.

Hate socialist programs! Hands off my Medicare!!!

This chat isn’t about you. Learn to read the room. Our nation is starting to impose its morally superior views on race and equality on the world, including the Vatican, South Africa, and the Middle East.

He’s wrecking the country and costing many of us our jobs-I think a chuckle or two at his hypocrisy is just human nature.

Service to your country is not DEI. If anything that is earning your way.

No, it’s DEI. DEI is diversity, equity and inclusion. Veteran’s preference places a value of the diversity of knowledge and skills acquired through the military. It provides equity to service members following their service.

Veteran’s preference usurps purely merit based hiring. It allows veterans with fewer skills and less experience to overtake (and sometimes block) more experienced applicants during the federal hiring process. This is permitted because Congress decided it was equitable to provide (sometimes) lower skilled veterans a chances to be included in the federal workforce. The argument is that the diversity of skills acquired through military service isn’t as easily quantified as private sector service.

Poor kid from Appalachia with addict parent and some time in foster care-he absolutely 100% benefited from efforts to boost diversity! But like other people who benefited, that doesn’t mean he didn’t have good grades and isn’t capable (albeit nazi-curious with no backbone and a craven desire for power.)

I guess they had that in common - Just a couple of DEI kids that didn’t deserve to be there and got in only on various preferences. Or are you saying *these* DEI admits were also the most meritorious? How can you be sure?

JD Vance is so woke. He’s also changed his name twice. We should start calling him his name given at birth JAMES DONALD BOWMAN

The pie IS limited, and previously the white boys gorged themselves to the point of debauchery while the rest of us were left to fight over the crumbs.

No one is actually interested in growing the pie. With budget cuts in the public sector and the increasing demands of shareholders in the private, it’s actually impossible. If the pie grows, the billionaires get 90% before anyone else even gets a bite.
