Or are you afraid the younger generation will acknowledge that scaling SS back actually takes some burden off their back?

You think SS is sustainable as currently operating? That’s naive.
Musk has zero authority to decide what social security payments get made and what payments don't get made, particularly at a scale that makes the program sustainable. You're beyond naive if you think this is a viable path toward a solution.

There was a good video from congress about this. I think it was RFK. He showed that there were tons of people older than 100 years old, even 120 years old getting SS payments when they were actually dead, but that the systems didn’t talk to each other so payments were still being sent out. I forget the numbers but it really was shocking.

He said that, but then he also said there was no identifying info available. It can’t be both. I suspect it will turn out that he made the whole thing up, or it was money sent to a payee who has more than one patient.
