More like clubs getting kicked out when they thought they could game the system...
Haha who's getting kicked out??
No one is leaving ecnl.
We've enjoyed ECNL on our clubs team but some of you are delusionally attached to it being the one and only Holy Grail League.
True. And so weird, I don’t get it.
Because, as of right now, it's significantly better (in terms of recruiting/placing kids in college) than GA.
There seem to be many parents in this forum who will challenge your very gentle bolded caveat. That's the weird part. Like there haven't been any league changes in recent years.
They can question it, but the stats don't lie. As of right now, ECNL places significantly more girls in college programs than the GA does. Doesn't mean that equation won't change in the future.
But stats do mislead. There are almost double the number of girls in ECNL (giant rosters) compared to GA (smaller rosters). So, it would make sense ECNL girls play soccer in college in a rough ratio of 2 to 1 in favor of ECNL. Look, ECNL is great and so is GA. I've seen coaching at both, it's not radically different. But more kids in ECNL = more kids in College from ECNL.
Long-term, who knows, but to say they aren't radically different right now isn't correct. There are significantly more GA teams than ECNL teams, so your roster size generalization (which I'm not even sure is correct across the board) doesn't offset that fact. Please note that I'm not disparaging GA....there are plenty of colleges that recruit GA players, and there are lots of GA players being recruited and play in college. I'm not saying anything contradicting that. But, there are plenty of data points that clearly show ECNL is currently the better pathway to college for girls. This isn't saying every ECNL team is better than every GA team. This isn't saying every ECNL player is better than every GA player. Obviously neither of those are true. In your local market, the GA team could've been a better path for those girls. Legacy FCV was a good example of that paradigm here in VA. It's always going to be dependent on the teams in your area and their connections/track record/coaching/etc. which will help influence your DD's path. But being in ECNL, in general, is the better path for exposure and recruiting, hands down.

and how about the comparison of the bottom 2/3rds of ECNL vs the top 1/3 of GA? Unless you are at a top team at ECNL you are not going anywhere
