I really think this class of (miracle) drugs does more than curb cravings and appetite, although that alone would make them worth it. I think it must also increase metabolism, because I eat similarly to much of what posters are saying they eat while on the meds, and my weight barely budges on the scale.
I know many of you will respond that I’m probably not aware of what I am actually consuming, but I strictly count and track calories and macros and weigh my food. As a result I feel like I am thinking about food constantly, weighing what to eat/not eat to stay within my limits for weight loss. I almost never eat out because of my dedication to/obsession with food tracking. It affects me personally and socially.
These drugs sound life changing and those disparaging them are lucky they don’t have the body and brain composition to need them.

You may never have to move up in dose!! Don’t listen to their schedule. I did it via the compounding medication tirzepatide available through a local doctor and I moved up from 2.5 to 3 and 3.5. I did each one after eight weeks or so and lost around 1.5 pounds a week. You do not have to move up to five and 7.5 and all those things unless you really want to. It’s most effective if you stay at a low dose. I had almost no side effects, but I was always really careful: I consumed daily psyllium pills and fiber Gummies, I used these amazing electrolytes that I loved called Ultima, supplemented with protein powder if I needed to, and I rested well and took care of myself. Although I love drinking, The compound naturally took away my interest in it, and that also helped me lose weight. Now I can enjoy a glass or two a week or less if I feel like it. Just listen to your body and don’t despair no matter what happens. Go to the Reddit group that people recommended above like tirzepatide compound and others and ask questions!!! Support from real life users is key!!! Once you reach goal weight you taper down slightly and find your maintenance dose. Good luck!
How much did you pay the local doctor for the compound tirzepitide?
I paid $360 for what turned out to be an 8 week supply. I stayed at a very low dose, which made it more economical. She was also my primary health provider so there were no additional charges as there are at weight loss clinics. For $180 a month I lost 40 lbs and am in the best shape of my life. I am happy, love getting dressed, and feel amazing. It took me 6 months and was worth every penny. Also hit the gym 3x weekly, walked daily, overhauled my eating. Leaving no stone unturned!!
$360 for 8 weeks is REALLY inexpensive!!!

Waiting for my appointment with a registered dietitian to ensure I'm eating as well as I can. It took about a month to have the medication in hand. Once I got through the insurance checks, I couldn't find a local pharmacy that had it in stock. I ended up filling it through Lilly and selected Amazon pharmacy as the dispensing pharmacy. My co-pay was going to be around $250 but using a Lilly coupon, it came down to $80 per month. Good luck, OP. I'm excited and ready to commit to a new lifestyle to get the most benefit from the med.
The max discount per month on the Lilly discount with insurance is $150.
Yes, you are correct. Just looked back at my order for the specifics. I'm the poster quoted above. Insurance co-pay (Express Scripts) was $235, got the $150 discount and paid $85.
Thanks from OP! This has just happened to me. My local CVS will not be able to get the medication in for more than a month.
I have asked my doctor to send it straight to the manufacturer and it seems like they will then send it through Amazon pharmacy? I did sign up for the savings card.
I have never worked with an online pharmacy or a manufacturer. Does Would Lilly contact my provider or me that the RX is ready? Do I have to get something from the manufacturer and then contact Amazon pharmacy? Have clearly never used online pharma before!
It seems your situation is a little different because it’s going indirect to Amazon via Lilly direct, but I use Amazon pharmacy for Zepbound and it works just like anything else. I tell the doctor I want the prescription sent there, he clicks the buttons on his end, and it’s done. I see it populate in my Amazon pharmacy account literally instantly as we are talking.
They run it through insurance (I have added my insurance and the Lilly discount card to my account) and it gets shipped. It’s the same thing as your local CVS but it’s shipped. It is, for all intents and purposes, exactly the same as Caremark mail (owned by CVS) or Express Scripts.

I have the headache too - still - on dose day. Why?

Anonymous wrote:The thing I love about it is that with many of my cravings gone (not all), I'm able to make much healthier, long-term choices about my food intake. I'm eating lots of oatmeal with fruit, veggie wraps with tofu, drinking tons of ice water, it just helps quiet my demons so I can make rational choices. I'm forever thankful.
