Starlink was also randomly turning off the Ukrainian troop’s Starlink connections during battles or offensive attacks. It is super sketchy.

From the Kyiv Independent 1/1/25: https://kyivindependent.com/elon-musk-turned-off-communications-with-starlink-preventing-drone-attack-on-russian-navy-in-2022-sources-tell-ukrainian-pravda/

Ukraine attempted to strike Russian ships in Sevastopol Bay on the night of September 16-17, 2022, but control over the drones via Starlink satellites broke down 70 kilometers from the target.

“Elon Musk turned off the Starlinks, through which we controlled the drones” a Ukrainian Pravda source said. Most of the drones were destroyed. The resilient Ukrainians modified naval drones and pulled the attack off on October 22.

At the All-In Summit in Los Angeles on September 12, Musk said “sanctions include Crimea, and we are not allowed to turn on the connection to a sanctioned country without explicit government approval."

“Ukraine was asking us to take part in a major act of war," he said, adding that "if I had received a presidential directive to turn it on, I would have done so.”

Here’s where it gets sketchy:
June 2023, the Pentagon finally confirmed that SpaceX did have a contract from the Defense Department to provide Ukraine with Starlink satellite services. That contract was in place early on in the war February 2022.

Lots of unanswered questions that Musk wants to quash.

Sounds like we need a full audit of all the funds being spent on Ukraine. We can't allow funds designated for Ukraine to be stolen by corrupt individuals and spent on who knows what.

He had $1 million USAID contracts so the agency’s OIG was investigating issues with those Starlink contracts. That is certainly a proper function of an Inspector General. It’s exactly what an OIG does. Elon was just projecting this whole time…

$1M? That's pixie dust compared to their overall contracts. This doesn't make sense.

Yeah. But if Musk was violating sanction that would put the rest of his government handouts for SpaceX and Tesla at risk. His “success” is built on usg subsidies.

Bingo! My bet is he was feeding Ukrainian info to Russia through Starlink terminals and/or violating U.S. sanctions against Russia. This goes deep! Think critically. Why else would Elon Musk care about USAID?

Seems plausible.

Not to mention starlink would tank if it’s true that he manipulated it. International contracts will probably start canceling.

Ontario cancelled a $100m contract.

At the time Musk was furious that the Pentagon wouldn't pay for the Starlink service he was providing to Ukraine. So it was funneled through USAID? I thought they were a non-military aid organization?

Could NOAA making satellite data publicly available for free be bothering Starlink?

Musk is going to do things that benefit Musk. Watch everything he does from that lens. He doesn’t give a shit about the country, our government, taxpayers, or even Trump. He only cares about his wealth. I’m kind of surprised people fell for this USAID thing and fell for his claims of rooting out corruption. Pay attention and think more critically!

Starlink had contracts with USAID and paid Starlink with government funds.

If Starlink was engaged in wrongdoing through those contracts, USAID can and should investigate.

Government contracts and the businesses that have those contracts are subject to investigation for fraud, waste and abuse.

Here are some basic FAQs about how Inspectors General work in the U.S. government.

IGs investigate contractors all the time.

You must be a troll.

You must be an idiot.
