DC local police is probably largely blue still
Vast majority of police nationally voted for Trump
So they absolutely wanted this. He has been v clear about his intentions. What mutiny are you talking about??

There are over a million cops in the USA. Many local cops are MAGA and don't see Federal LEOs as their brothers.
The capitol police and DC police are pretty local. Honestly I thought I was beyond being shocked but I really thought Republicans would keep him from pardoning the ones that used direct violence against cops. But they just rolled right over.
From what I hear almost everyone told him not to extend things to the violent offenders, but this apparently was Trump's personal decision. He was probably two mentally lazy to make the distinction. And just wanted to get the love from the J6ers. And again, this is why I oppose pardon powers for the President in all forms. I would prefer they be completely stripped.
I say that as a Trump voter. We can't get everything we want out of the people we vote for. But this is not a particularly important issue. And it has no policy impact.

The five officers above died as a result of the riot that occurred on January 6, 2021. All would be alive if that riot did not occur.
Thank you

How would it have played out? The actions of that day by the police officers were pivotal, and might have turned the history of the country in more ways than one. You will see that history officially rewritten.
