She needs to pay more attention to melody and harmony and less attention to lyrics in her writing. Her earlier stuff was enjoyable when she was more produced.
I tire of the idea that the only way to express your femininity is through ice skating costumes and gowns.
She can’t dance.
She and her parents have done an amazing job with marketing and playing to her talents.

Respect her as a business woman. She makes smart decisions and isn’t afraid to speak up.
Neutral on her personality. She has a few friends that (by many accounts) are not very nice, but I’m old enough to understand that a celebrity’s public persona may not always match their private persona, and that the media gets a whole lot of stuff wrong on purpose for clicks. So basically, it’s none of my business.
This up until the personality part.
I was a casual listener until my daughter became a fan and then I took a deeper dive.
As someone over 50 it blows my mind how relatable her music is. While she isn’t the best vocalist in the world, I do love her voice. But the songwriting is key.
She’s an incredible business woman and I love how angry and uncomfortable that makes some men.
She has an incredible stage presence, but I love the times when she’s “off-script” and comes across as awkward and goofy as most of us can be at times. She seems to be really happy and unapologetically enjoying her life right now.
Obviously unless you actually know someone you can’t truly know their personality, but I’ve heard enough first hand accounts of her kindness that I believe she is a good person at heart.
Not saying she is perfect or saintly or anything like that…just that she generally means well and wants to do good in the world.

She's famous for donating to food banks and paying her employees very well. She brings a lot of joy to a lot of people, for sure.
Anonymous wrote:I think her music is okay. I feel like she has a deep need to create a certain image of herself with fans as one of them. She uses her fans identifying with her to advance her music sales and her image. I feel the same way about that as I did about Oprah when she had her talk show and always talked about her weight. Her hook was that we were supposed to identify with her weight struggles and want to watch her because she was like us - except she was not like us because she was worth hundreds of millions and had a national TV show. Taylor is basically the millennial musical Oprah.

Lol
Sorry meant to add she has written zero memorable or moving melodies and her lyrics read like my journal from 7th grade. She is so dull and uncharismatic I can’t take it.

Personality? I had no opinion, but since she started with the football guy I have a very negative opinion. Even if she truly cares about him, she should have better judgment about the football damage to him and condoning the whole sport

How so?
Anonymous wrote:She seems like kind of an oddball and I don’t care for her music that much anymore. But I don’t have anything against her. I like her country music and her earlier pop but my interest dropped off after Reputation.
