PP, where do you see this ? In the FAQ it still reads as "31st January:

They changed FAQ to Feb 7 th

The 29th seems like the logical date given that they're advising to contact the office if you haven't been notified by the 31st. However, the earlier post on this thread reporting the office saying "early February" is confusing. That seems to be pushing things much later than last year, as they'll still need to hold the shadow day and allow time for appeals. Maybe they were just trying to lower expectations in case they're not able to meet the "end of January" deadline?

Luck and emotional maturity plays not an insignificant role.
My older one had the test of her lifetime and was accepted to all magnets she applied to first round. Note: Graduated HS during COVID and went to UMD CP. Will attend a top 50 law school this fall. More of a humanities than a STEM kid and COVID significantly impacted her HS education.
Younger one didn’t take the MAP as seriously as he should have. He was waitlisted to all magnet programs but was accepted first round off the waitlist to his first choice. I was really not pleasant to my WL child because I knew he hadn’t put in the effort on MAP. It was hard for me to control my emotions, please be careful and have more grace than I did. He performed much better on the SAT, is graduating with a higher HS GPA and had more rigor than the older one.
My kids also taught me that it’s really okay not to be in a magnet and that it doesn’t define you or your future. Though I knew that, I was caught up emotionally at the time in the frenzy of the magnet processes which was easy to do in my social circle.
Looking back my older one’s best college friends largely weren’t in magnets yet they are going to medical/ dental school/ obtaining PhDs, graduating at top of engineering at UMD etc. Her best college friends attended schools that DCUM looks down on.
My younger one who is graduating this year has largely chosen best friends that aren’t in a magnet program at his HS. They are kind kids with good heads on their shoulders without anxiety. They will do well in life.
Life is a long journey. If your kid gets in, be thankful and celebrate but acceptance or denial does not limit/ nor guarantee their future. Some magnet kids do flame out.

Reading this thread I see why teachers say Parents are the problem. Geez. Most of ya’ll need to relax. If decisions don’t come out until early February so what. There is nothing you can do now to change the outcome. Have your kid selected the courses they want:need at their home high school and then move on. This trying to determine what time it will arrive or what MAP score will be enough is not helpful.
If this is any indication, I can imagine how some of ya’ll are going to be come time to apply to college or career programs and honestly feel bad for the kids.

Probably it was set to be automatically open on the 24th and they forgot to change that.

Incidentally, the appeal link on FAQ is open now to log appeals. This until yesterday, when clicked indicated that it will be enabled only January 29th and originally it was Jan 24th till Thursday.
