NP, large fibroids can cause heavy bleeding and prevent someone from being a candidate for an ablation.


Ablation has been a miracle for me for the last 2 years. But bleeding and cramps are starting to return with a vengeance. I had been warned by friends that the tissue could grow back. Has anyone experienced this?

Why were you not a candidate for an ablation?

I used several Tampax ultra-grade tampons at one time (usually three), and supplemented with Always extra-long ultraabsorbent (I can't remember the exact name, just the most absorbent grade). During the worst of it, I would have to wake up in the middle of the night to change everything. During these times, I would also put an extra absorbent towel on the bed. The disruption in sleep was really bad, and I suppose if I had been more clearheaded (or known about this forum!), I might have been inclined to go see a doctor to see if there were any other solutions, but I have lived to tell the tale, so I guess it has all worked out.

I had pretty bad adenomyosis (similar to endo; deeper in the lining. Thus the flooding). They can’t cauterize that.
