Why were you not a candidate for an ablation?
NP, large fibroids can cause heavy bleeding and prevent someone from being a candidate for an ablation.

During the worst of it, I would have to wake up in the middle of the night to change everything. During these times, I would also put an extra absorbent towel on the bed. The disruption in sleep was really bad, and I suppose if I had been more clearheaded (or known about this forum!), I might have been inclined to go see a doctor to see if there were any other solutions, but I have lived to tell the tale, so I guess it has all worked out.
