Without Jay Z, I think Beyonce would be another Dianna Ross, with appeal to people from all ages and people who loved all different kinds of music.
Beyonce is so gracious and elegant and I don't remember her ever doing or saying anything controversial. She has a right to sing country, opera, or whatever she wants.
I don't think she and other singers of her caliber need to dress and dance like they do, especially with her daughter on stage. The moves are so acceptable now, but for someone my age, Diana Ross never had to dance on stage like that.
Cher used to dress in provocative clothes. Madonna may have been one of the first to sing and dance provocatively. Lady Gaga doesn't really dance that way although she does where the costumes.
It's just normalized now that the singers dance like they're pole dancers.

I can't stand Jay Z (never liked him). I can respect Beyonce as a performer and as an artist. Not sure why you have to see one of the most successful artists on earth through her dh at all. They are separate people.
I think PP means she’s being trotted out because of the recent allegations, but presumably this was in the works prior to that
This is Beyonce. She doesn't need to be "trotted out". And of course it was in the works for a long time!
Technically speaking, she *was* trotted out lol
I feel like people complaining and nitpicking did not watch the performance.
I watched it and didn't like it at all. The songs and country album are terrible. It could be satire, honestly, but I don't think Bey is smart enough to pull it off. Sadly, she is serious with this country crap. The biggest insult to my ears was her rework of "Jolene."
Your ears are biased
NP. She’s not a great singer.

DP. I thought her rendition of Jolene was pretty poor. She doesn’t have the vocal chops for that song.
Netflix paid her for this, per her contractual obligation with them from 2019.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I haven’t heard anything about this. My main takeaway was that it was kind of embarrassing for a celebrity of Beyonce’s level to perform halftime at a normal, non-Superbowl game
+1. Shameless money grab by her and her creepy husband.
Did you think it was going to be live singing? For starters, the whole thing started in a tunnel, which would have been echoey and not appropriate for singing live. This was not a secret.Anonymous wrote:She lip synced the whole thing.
