(... Seriously, OP, please go with the jeans and cashmere sweater).
Or a nice skirt and sweater.
Skirt and sweater? Some people must be writing from another planet.

1. What would you wear for a cozy NYE night in?
2. What would you bring to sleep in?
What if your assumption is wrong and you show up with sleeping suit and nigh gown to a dinner invite?
What is a sleeping suit?

Please don't drink too much but a light buzz is a good idea. Definitely get started in front of the fireplace! We have one in our bedroom and on a cold winter night it's a fun place to be.

I kind of agree. A home date - on New Year’s Eve - when they haven’t slept together yet seems too awkward and high pressure. OP seems on board and I hope she has a great time but this wouldn’t be for me. I’m old and married now, but when I was young and dating I wanted to get glammed up and be taken out for NYE.

This. Something you’d wear to a fancy restaurant for dinner but that’s comfortable enough to “cook”
OMG no. He asked her over for a cozy night in to cook a meal together and play cards. Obviously we all know what’s really on the menu here, but at least pretend to play along.
