By no means my intent is to advocate for teaching about Santa during Christmas season in FCPS, I just want to point out the hypocrisy of the virtual signaling bunch who post here while calling anyone who doesn’t align with their thinking intolerant, Right-wing, MAGA, or what have you, all the while singling out the Christian faith and some traditions around Christmas, for some, as worth to be excluded from the FCPS calendar.

Ummm, that’s not what it says, but sure. That was cute how you added in “most” when it’s not there.
If you have trouble with any of this, go talk to your governor. This is the standard for every single student in Virginia. This is not an FCPS standard but a Virginia standard.

Describe the stories of influential people and their contributions to Virginia, with emphasis on:
Maggie L. Walker
Arthur R. Ashe, Jr.
Lawrence Douglas Wilder
John Mercer Langston

You can add this to the agenda at your next meeting to take down public education. Do you even live in Fairfax County or have school-age children? Something tells me you don’t.

2. Even some Christians are anti-Santa (I grew up in a very religious household where Santa was shunned, bc according to my parents, Christmas should only be about Jesus).

What does being Christian have to do with perpetuating belief in Santa? I grew up in a house that included some Christmas traditions (tree, present, Santa) but no religious belief (parents agnostic/atheist). We do the same but we joke about Santa and did not encourage belief.

Re: the OP, I don't think it's appropriate for schools to encourage belief in Santa. FCPS is very diverse at this point and this would be weird.
