I think the circles we run in around these parts, folks know Penn vs Penn State. Ivy, etc.

Agree this is a real issue as my daughter is struggling with attending law school there even though ranked no. 4.

I’m sorry, that’s a moronic reason to hesitate. Any halfway educated person let alone lawyer will know it.

It’s been Penn since the early days. UPenn was a branding effort at some point.

According to her, people call it UPenn to help alleviate the confusion with Penn State. In her opinion, it doesn't make a difference because everyone hears UPenn and still comments on having a strong football culture.

Along with a history of child molestation.

My kid got in. Feeling both shocked and happy! Many other strong ED applicants from their school so we were hopeful but expectations were not high. Feeling lucky and thankful right now.

I posted a little earlier than my kid got in. It’s his dream school and he’s so happy. I know he’s very lucky. He worked hard but so do many kids who don’t end up with the admit.

Congrats my kid loves it there! It is an invigorating place with so many undergrad opportunities!

Grew up in the area and everyone called Penn

I went there for undergrad in early 80s and it was always Penn. But when I'd visit family in New England, they'd always call it UPenn. I always thought it was because they had UMass, UConn, etc. But for people actually at Penn, it was Penn.
