Princeton was going to be full pay even if the got in and other T20 gave a significant merit scholarship. However, this was few years ago and my DC is Asian from large competitive suburban public high school.

sorry to derail, but which T20 gave big merit? Emory, Wash U, Vandy? (am I forgetting someplace?)

Applying to Princeton without either strong legacy support or as a recruited athlete, the assumption should be that you won't be admitted. If your daughter attends a very competitive school, she likely has access to a staff person at the school who can review her application and reassure you and your daughter of the strength of the application.

I'm sorry, that stings. They could be rejecting more in the early round this year, instead of deferring most only to reject them in RD. I would look at Reddit to try to verify that and also ask the school counselor. It seems unlikely it's the app.
