Trump voter. Biden would have done it either way.

And yes, the problem is how Hunter was raised. Joe has been covering up and bailing out Hunter his entire life and it shows. Hunter has never learned.

Absolutely disgusting how you people judge people who’ve suffered serious trauma. Lots of people have an addiction problem - it’s not a character issue. Harassing suffering people IS a character problem though. We see you.

Trump will pardon J6ers and expose the corruption

The corruption of his own admin. No he won't. J6 rioters/insurrectionists are traitors and deserved to be prosecuted.

You MAGA are so backwards. You think Trump, career criminal, liar and fraud and J6 insurrectionists are alright. But Hunter Biden and illegal immigrants are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo dangerous and awful. You guys are nuts.

I have no problem with this. I would have thought he was an idiot if he hadn't done this. It's pragmatic and self-serving and that's fine. Sometimes everyone plays in the mud. Biden would be criticized and attacked no matter what he does, so he might as well protect his son in the process. I expect exactly the same from Trump.

Au contraire, this will be very useful for justifying the upcoming pardons for every single J6 political prisoner.

Trump about to pardon insurrectionists who attacked police officers. Because he does not "back the blue" and MAGAs don't care. Shrug.

Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.
The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the court room - with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter's cases.
No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter's cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son - and that is wrong.
There has been an effort to break Hunter - who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they've tried to break me - and there's no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.
For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth. They'll be fair-minded. Here's the truth: I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice - and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.

It would take Joe three ice cream conses, two press conrerences and a miracle to get that out of his mouth coherently.

Good for him.

It's way less than an eye for an eye with the Jack Smith dropping charges thing, and he would have been unfairly targeted. I mean, Trump will still unfairly target them.

Would be good to pardon others for similar things, but good for him.

Meh, as a parent it would be hard to sit back and not issue a pardon. However, by saying the Dept of Justice has been weaponized against his son just solidifies the perspective, right or wrong, that we have federal prosecutors who are trophy hunting.

Good. Joe looked at who Trump was appointing and saw he was going full authoritarian. So Joe isn't going to let his son be a sitting duck for whatever garbage those nutjobs could throw at him.

I hope Joe pardons anyone else who might be in Trump's crosshairs, from Hillary Clinton to Jack Smith. Give Trump as few targets as possible for his retribution tour.

I think Hunter’s crimes are petty and he likely wouldn’t have been prosecuted if he wasn’t Biden’s son. But all of Biden’s complaints here are true for how Trump has been treated with so many frivolous prosecutions, in fact, 100x worse and more aggressive for the sole purpose of breaking him. Looks like they both will get their pardon. Hunter from his Dad, and Trump through his grit and perseverance and ultimately winning over the American people

Trump has no many prosecutions because he has led a life of crime. FFS you people are so gullible.
