I would let my kid go as long as I had some correspondence first. Do you have her phone number to text? You can just translate on an app or online. It might not be perfect but you can still tell what someone is trying to say.

Communicate enough with the grandparents at drop off time. My kid (age 9) thinks it’s fun to converse with them - “it’s like a secret language to figure out.” The friend translates. Can you communicate via text with a translator app?

Granted, I don’t just drop my kids off at peoples houses whom I’ve never met, but the language barrier alone doesn’t bother me.

I need to know and be able to communicate with someone that I’m leaving responsible for my 8 yr old. I can’t believe so many would just drop their child off at a stranger’s house that you can’t even have a conversation with.
