Isn’t this the same Overton that smashed Madison 48-14 in state finals. Regardless of whether you like it or not Overton is the best coach in NoVa. He’s ran thru pretty much everyone at some point either in playoffs with Freedom or even hayfield this year.

When there is cheating to this extent, you stick w/the jurisdiction that looked the other way. It was incredibly stupid to go to fcps and try to open up a new shop w/31 transfers, and invite all that scrutiny. I can only assume there was some huge monetary incentive, which will be the next shoe to drop. And, people are not going to give until it’s all out in the open.

He was handed a 90k/year full time job as security director at Hayfield.

Idk, from the outside it looks to be less about his coaching and more about being the most willing to disregard the rules to stack a team.

If every other coach has to make the best team out of the kids zoned for their school, but one coach just collects the best players from all over.. his coaching is far less important.

Kinda like saying the principal at TJ is the best principal because they have the best text scores. Disregarding the fact that being the best test takers in the first place is the reason they’re all there.

But does it really matter ? Everyone assumed in was going to be LB vs WS for region (w/o Hayfield) , so they play one game early.

To be honest, I agree with you here. It's not Fairfax's fault that their opponent removed themselves. That said, the football pundits will say that the worst seed automatically being in the final for the region is bad for sport. I can't imagine Fairfax wants to just back into the Final (sure they'll be happy to play) but they certainly will be like whew dodged a bullet.

WSHS v. LB will be a good game, they usually are. That said, Bruins by 6 to play Fairfax on Friday (???), Bruins by 10 against the Lions. Be great if Spartans could get to the Final but don't be surprised if a lot of their magic rolled off last Friday against SoCo (it was a big big win for the program of course but games like that can sometimes be followed by let downs)
