I know we all know many of those Mon & Tues after the fact tryouts are money-grabs and most of those teams are not looking for more than maybe a few spots to still be filled, but I appreciated knowing that a player with no prior history with the club could still be recognized as valuable at a good club on one of the last days of tryouts.

Please be careful if you do end up with Maryland juniors. They have had so many players leave them this season which is why they are scrambling. All they care about is getting their money and athletes are nothing but pawns for them. They lost half teams (both boys and girls) this season. Most players that are playing there are doing so either because they are the "chosen" ones by the coaches or as we all know logistics and driving time etc. for parents. They treat players and parents very badly and have no value for anyone. If you do decide to go there please make sure you do some research on the coach because the club will not a single thing to help you if you are having issues once your are on a team - its a vicious culture.

They should have sent another message checking in. But I guess you also should keep the communications open. Let them know you would absolutely let them know by 10.
This process can be bonkers.

Did they rescind your daughter’s offer before 10 pm? Did you accept the offer?
Can’t follow what happened.
Yes, they did. My daughter was sent an offer at 3pm yesterday. We declined an offer from her previous club and tried out at this new club. We didn't hear from the new club on Monday. So, Tuesday we spent looking for a club to tryout at. The new club sent my daughter an offer at 3pm, we didn't notice. The new club sent an email at 6pm asking if she had any idea yet. We were getting ready to tryout somewhere and getting dinner. I have four kids, it was chaotic and I forgot to email back. The tryouts ended at 9:30pm, my daughter spent time making a decision. We accepted the offer, with the "new club", filled out the document, paid and sent and email.. all before 10pm. We got an email at 10:06pm that they sent the offer to another girl around 9:50pm because they hadn't heard from us and that usually mean that the player declined and he had to look out for his team.
Uh.. What?! If 10pm hit and you didn't hear from us, you still could have sent the offer to the next girl. He said my daughter could stay, but she would be third string and wouldn't play much.
I don’t think you have any grounds for a chrva complaint here. He said she still has the offer and can stay. That’s all he has to offer.
It isn't the same offer though, the other girl has that offer. If it was the same offer, the next girl would be third string.
I think the string number is decided based on skill anyway. If you are string #3 and develop faster/better than string #2, the coach would reevaluate their game strategy. If your DD was sent an offer and the other girl was an alternate, your DD is likely better. Just take the offer and ask your DD to do her best.
