Portland, OR strange is normal and normal is strange. I think there are a ton of people who've fried their brains with drugs.

A woman yelled at me at a pumpkin patch for stealing her wagon of pumpkins. It was bizarre. She was there with another woman and kids and the non-yelling woman kept giving me the "I'm sorry" face.

I used to work at a 5 star hotel. I saw all sorts of stuff. One time a lady called and said her husband was at a work conference and could I help find him. I wrote down her number and said I would call her back.

He was not staying with us. That was a terrible phone call to make.

We were in San Juan in April and standing outside eating cookies we had just gotten from Drunken Cookies and my 11yo dropped a crumb of her cookie on the ground. Probably the size of your pinkie nail.
A complete stranger swooped in, picked it up and popped it in her own mouth.
We stood there flabbergasted and she is acting like it’s fine, five second rule isn’t a thing, she’s a science teacher and knows about germs etc.
One of the oddest things I’ve seen from someone who presents as normal lol.

Where I'm from, they put such people away. I never even saw a visible special needs person or a wheelchair growing up.
I'm surprised that Op is surprised as such people are everywhere here. I find OP to be strange for bringing it up.
