Groceries, gas, border security, alphabet mafia, etc

I agree. I would add $$$ spent military spending.

I am not a Trump vote but think these are real views. It’s not just all trumpets are horrible racists.

Follow history and you would know.
The political pendulum in the US swings right and left, when it goes too far one way, the people create new momentum to bring it to the middle.
Always has, always will.

This is all republican playbook

1. Sketchy polls that show close numbers.
2. Start to circulate claims of fraud in registering and other vote related things
3. Once early voting happens, double down on fraud claims and sow distrust (we are here)
4. Lose
5. Claim the election was stolen and riot

They have to get people to believe it's oh.so.close first. It's not.

Um... every major news source reports the race is neck and neck. Not sure where *you're* getting your news...

Because corporate media needs a horserace. How many times do we have to explain this? Read the Polling thread to learn about herding.

Curious - what news sources do you rely on? Which polls do you consider "non-sketchy"? We'll wait.

Name calling isn't fair, Questioning intelligence is because your explanations are not based on facts that correspond with reality.

Not true. People vote based on their daily experiences. DCUM likes to ignore what you're saying and spout statistics.

It's not reality though . Facts are;t just your personal feelings.

Okay let me explain it another way one last time. I don't care if an economist says things are booming under Biden based on the metrics they choose if my groceries cost exorbitantly more than what I paid previously. I care about my daily reality. I vote based on what I deal with every day. That isn't a feeling. That is reality.

By the way, organizations are sometimes wrong in their reporting. Remember when Americans were expressing recently that crime was out of hand and Democrats pointed to FBI statistics to say that crime rates didnt show higher crime? And then low and behold a few weeks ago a reporting error in the crime statistics was found and turns out what people were feeling was accurate. Crime was in fact higher.

Have you shopped at a grocery store lately?

When did the President and Vice President start setting prices for corporations that have recently declared their highest profits in decades?

Please get an education.

If it’s not a cult I don’t know what it is. Like I said, I’m a hard core Republican and not some crazy liberal. We can survive four years of Harris but four years of an unleashed Trump scares the hell out of me.

Trump isn't going to win. Harris will win by a landslide. The only problem is we have a country of some very angry men who have been led to believe that the election is close, and these guys have guns and they may take it out on their wives. I predict an increase in domestic abuse if Harris wins.

I don’t get your mindset. We cannot afford trillions more in reckless spending and debt. We cannot afford to continue this crushing inflation and unaffordable housing. We can’t afford to have millions more illegal immigrants enter the country. Four years more of the Biden-Harris administration scares me and tens of millions of other Americans.

Good points.

WSJ had 3-4 decent OpEds on several angles on this all.

It's not just about money. It's about rights. It's about fighting against tyranny. There is much more at stake than finances.

Fighting for the Democratic Party is not fighting against tyranny.

Exactly. It's not going to be as close, and there isn't nearly the enthusiasm in Trump's base. They can't get anything like the traction they had in 2020. Most the schemes don't work if the outcome is clear. Trump's not in the White House, so his hand is limited.

Here is a clue. His 4 years:

low inflation + low interest rates
no new wars
better border security
tax cutes

I think you said it best here. Tax cutes. It was very cute for the richest. For the middle class, we paid a good bit more thanks to Trump and things were only cheap during Covid when there was no demand.

Weren’t things more in demand during covid? And less available?
